Life is a thing of unspeakable times of comfort. It doesnt begin in comfort, it begins in dismay. Comfort is one thing you cannot get, by looking for it. If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end. But if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth. And its no use at all trying to go on to that comfort without first going through the dismay..
Be encouraged as am I, that times of dismay and searching for truth will lead you to that time of unspeakable and unshakable comfort.
"what is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" Psalm 8:4

Speechless Sunday
Advertures more then always begin by getting some-what lost...
Luckly there are those people along the side of the road (literally) who point you in the right direction.
Today my best friend and I went looking for Mt. Helix. After circling the base of the mountain near decorative houses dressed in gold; a kind lady walking down the road clothed for gardening and wearing a large flaccid hat, told us how to get to the top.
A 35 foot cross stands at the peak, near a natural rock formed Amphitheater, which over looks a beautiful 360 degree view of the surrounding cities. A peaceful place to have a picnic, in which we did, after finding a heart shaped cactus and figuring out what high-way was what. As we ate our lun-din (lunch/dinner) on a picnic table tucked away in the trees; some near-by children were digging up the local earth worms. Memories of my childhood came flooding back.

Sea Port
Something New:
Sea Port Village. Interesting place full of shops right along the coast of San Diego. My favorite store was a cute little coffee/book shop. My best friend and I sat upstairs and read Dr. Seuss books and sipped down an iced chai mocha. We walked into a few other mysteriously odd collectible shops, watched a man swallow a sword, and then found our way to the water, where we watched the sun set in the clear blue sky and the clam ocean beneath. Beautiful scene for photos.
Sights to See
Something New:
Today I went to Cabrillo National Monument and the Old Point Loma Light House.
It was beautiful. The air was warm yet a breeze calmed the suns rays when it brushed against my skin. I ate a packed lunch on a rock formed wall with my best friend, over looking a vast and deep ocean. Saw history and experienced the present as each wave formed and crashed along the coast. It was wonderful to be so high up, looking out at the water and San Diego. The sky was so clear.

Creativity Flowing
This week has seemed to be extra long. Partly because now as school has started again and I don't have to go any longer, I'm left at home to find things to do.
As I've been alone, my creativity juices have some what been flowing...
I've made two rings, a bracelet, and took some pictures.
Its been fun, mainly because I have someone in mind of who I'm making these things for.

Growing Brains
Story
I'm reading the book "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years"
Super good book by the way. I recommend reading it, if you get the chance.
Right now Don is talking about story.
What story is and how to make a good story.
Basically what he comes to is that "a story is a character who wants something and overcomes conflict to get it."
But it has to be a real conflict.
If the story is going to be good, a character is going to have to face some stuff they don't want to face...
As I was reading last night I couldn't help but think about how God has given each one of us a story.
Our challenge is to make our story good.
Make our story worth reading.
In order for this to happen, in order to have a good story,
there must be conflict. There must be obstacles to face and overcome.
"And once you know what it takes to live a better story, you don't have a choice. Not living a better story would be like deciding to die. Deciding to walk around numb until you die. And its not natural to want to die".
Don feels like God wrote us specifically into the story and possibly said "enjoy your place in my story. The beauty of it means you matter, and you can create within it even as I have created you."
Let us not take this story for granted.

Secrets
Something new:
When someone has a secret, it is unknown to you.
But it becomes something learned when they share with you what that secret entails.
My best friend and I shared secrets tonight...
I learned something new about her.
She is fascinating.
